Hi all,

Are any parts made that can reduce the (carry) length of the AR platform?

For instance, a stock that folds back towards the barrel like the MP5?

Or a barrel that folds back towards the stock?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

A 11.5 SBR will breakdown into a 2 ft long case by just using the pushpins. how short are you trying to get?

I'd check the Calguns forums, if you are in CA... What you are looking for is most likely not legal, here.

There's the LAW Tactical folding stock adapter and combined with the shortest barrel you could get, take apart the upper from the lower in a backpack and you'll have a very compact AR.

lol.

If you were in a free state, you could use an NEA PDW stock.

Unfortunately, you're in a commie state.

I bet the OP is an obamatron troll, he's got a post count of 2.  He probably does news for a leftist newspaper and is trying to come up with a BIG story that AR15's are evil assault rifles that can be modified to be concealed in a suitcase or backpack.  That's not going to happen easily, even an AK needs a good gunsmith to get it to properly fire with a barrel short enough for that.

No OP, what you're looking for is a glock with a buttstock.  CAA makes a RONI stock for it that'll be the ticket to what you want.  But alas, it goes against the leftist agenda because you realize all those evil features don't make the ar15 any better than a pistol at close range.

Hi all,

This is my first post and I'd first like to thank you all for the wealth of knowledge that is on this site.  Made it really easy to get through my first build (.223, single stage, 16").

I am starting my second build soon and want to really deck this thing out.  So far, I have an Aero Precision lower, and I'd like some recommendations on build #2
http://aeroprecisionusa.com/shop/ar15-stripped-lower-receiver-with-cerakote

My goals:
-long range
-large caliper
-sniper rifle style

Questions:
How do i match caliber to barrel for best accuracy?
What is the largest caliber i can go with a standard lower and still use a magazine? (The more recoil the better)
Do i need a BCG specific to that caliber?
How much does the stock affect accuracy and which style should i lean towards?
I'd assume 2-stage trigger right?
Which type of optic?

Thanks is advance!

For best concealability, just use the handy convenient, and in-expensive Glock 19 conversion kit.
Even legal in California.

Good question.
There are several parts made that can do that for you.
Conveniently, FN offers a package with all required parts.
Look for the 'Scar' package.
