For a project I need to program two servos to run and do it for less than $50. All of the micro controllers I've looked at are around $50 so once I add servos it's too expensive. Any advice on what to use or do?

You need a logic card of some type and a program to operate the stepping motors.

You might try a Raspberry Pi. They're pretty inexpensive and should be able to run whatever software you need.

If it's just on and off for the servos a Basic Stamp microcontroller can be had for under $30.

A little cheaper than the Pi, but not anywhere near as fun.
