This girl does not appear to be looking for trouble or attention, she is open carrying because she is from Texas and does not have a La carry permit so she is carrying the only way she can right then.

The female cop gets a little frustrated because the girl is not breaking any law so lies to her so she'll stop carrying the gun.

Read the full update under the video too.

She actually handled it pretty well, she didn't really argue, she got the cop on video lying which she verified with the dept Lt

And she even made a smart assed remark about her location and how many guns she has, "want to find out , find me"

I know, reading is for suckers huh?

Yes, I know I didn't have to give her my ID, but I didn't feel like
arguing. Also, for those saying that I did this hoping to get pulled
over, that's not what I meant when I said "finally getting pulled over".
I said that because I knew it would happen at some point (I've seen
many youtube videos of it).
I had already been open carrying my firearm
for weeks before getting stopped. I ride my bike cause I have no car -
not because I want attention. I carry a gun because I don't want to be a
victim.

***I called the department. Spoke to a Lieutenant. He
assured me there was no city ordinance against open carry and that I
could continue to do so. I continue to Open Carry and have had no
problems since. ***

Also, LOL buy a can of pepper spray my ass

***I
uploaded this directly from my iphone so I wasn't able to cut out my
personal info, just know that if you find me, you'll find out just
exactly how many guns I own***

<nods head>  Uh huh, and that's why she was filming?

Silly open/concealed carry laws are silly.

Reason #5,673 why I love Wyoming.

1) This video is old. We've done it more than a few times.

2) There are a lot of cops out there that don't care about the law.

Sorry, perhaps you're right. I'm just saying that all states should recognize Constitutional carry.

And this is GD, where jumping to conclusions is an Olympic Sport.

Louisiana does have free open carry with no permit.

That is the point. She was legal and the cops didn't care.

Not much different than the guy in Wyoming who was harassed over open carry. I think it was in Lincoln county. There was a thread about that awhile ago.

She said flat out there was a city ordinance prohibiting the open carry of a firearm.

That is a lie.

She didn't say there might be a law regarding it, she said there was a law

She did not like the gun being carried openly , stevie wonder could see that

Bullshit....if a cop wants to arrest you, he can and will.  There are specific charges that have been created for this entire purpose.   Basically just a miscellaneous category for people who piss off or make an officer look like a fool when they question their authority.  Please see "disorderly conduct".

I am not a cop basher just for the sake of cop bashing.....but in 33 years on this planet, my personal experiences dealing with and personally knowing many cops, it has been my experience that the vast majority are conceited assholes who have an ego that rivals any politician / authority figure.  I do not extrapolate that view to the entire LEO community, but I am also not going to write all those experiences off as an "isolated incident".

It is what it is and I will continue to be respectful in any encounter with LEO's, as I have also encountered many good men, but the asshole to good guy ratio is not proportionate to other professions in my opinion.  YMMV.

A cop can lie to you and tell you it's illegal to do something.  For example, tell you it's against the law to open carry, even though it is not.  What he cannot do is charge you with breaking that imaginary law.  This "disorderly conduct" angle you're taking is a completely different ball game.  They can charge you with violating any EXISTING CRIME they choose. They cannot charge you with violating an imaginary one.

Cops are allowed to lie to us.

And people are allowed to lie to us.  They do it all the time to me and there's nothing I can do about it.
In a lot of states you lie to an LEO while he's investigating a crime and you get charged with "making a false report" or making a false statement to police"

maybe not everywhere but everywhere I know about.

True, but that's a specific instance.  Most of the time I can't do anything about someone lying to me.  The statement was "cops are allowed to lie to us".  Which is not 100% true either.  If we are going to sit around and make blanket statements, I'm going to join in.

False.  The simple fact is that making false statements to police officers is a crime in and of itself in the vast majority of the U.S.  What did Martha Stewart go jail for?  Lying to an investigator.

If there is a law in your locale against lying to an investigator, then there is.

Wrong.

Yes, while in the course of an investigation and about information pertinent to that investigation, it can become a crime.  Lying in general is not a crime.

YMMV.

Yes when trying to trick you into confessing

Not when telling you there is a law to prevent you from doing something legal they just don't like.
The police can lie about almost anything, including making up imaginary laws. Charging you with violating said imaginary law is another matter.

It really depends on the person.  A family member of mine was a very decent guy before becoming a cop, after several years on the job, I can hardly stand to be around him, the arrogance is really not very pretty.

That said, I have a second friend who was also a very decent guy before becoming a cop, and after several years on the job... he still is...

Therein lies the bulk of my first-hand experience.  Fortunately, the cops I've dealt with in their professional lives (i.e. when they pull me over) have all been pretty decent.  That said, I get pulled over maybe twice per decade, and I'm generally cordial and polite to them as well.
