Close to home...you know I wouldn't feel as bad if it boiled down to China or somewhere else just being cheaper.  Instead its purely on the basis of destructive regulation that caused this.

All that's left will be assembled in America ammo.

It is time to start using depleted Uranium.

that was proven to be false. some one here works at a place that smelts lead.

"I work for a battery mfg here in PA. Our lead smelter runs 24/7 and
rarely shuts down. I'm told it generates $1m/day worth of lead for our
battery production.

Some of the lead ingots are the size of a dishwasher.

Really?

Some other place that is a PRIMARY smelter - which produces lead from raw lead ores directly from mines?

Melting lead and pouring ingots is not smelting.

Smelting requires temps in the 2500 range.

Exide battery has many salvage contracts to re-refine and recycle lead content scrap (such as old batteries) - and it is a smelting process, but they are not producing lead from raw ore.

obammers tells EPA to ban lead production + make ammo production more difficult and expensive,  + then stop imports of lead, + make the tariffs so high + raise the cost of ammo = only rich people can hunt and protect themselves.

Flip side is that maybe this forces ammo companies to find lead alternatives or create synthetic lead

ive seen a 40 ft container full of buckets of bullet lead from shooting ranges, all going over seas .
Also seen multiple containers full of brass going over seas as scrap or to be reloaded. some of it US MIL brass.

Whether there are other places doing the smelting or not, the main issue remains.

The kenyan is fucking over the country via executive direction.

Doesn't matter if 10 places remain. The spiral continues downward and it has to be stopped.

If things do not change direction this spiral will not end well.

They will take our liberty by legislation an inch at a time.

Tinfoil? I see no tinfoil. They have effectively done that with Automatic weapons. This is actually a smart plan on their part. Most will submit to a little law here and a little law there and BAM it's a done deal.

Environmental Protection Agency issued new National Ambient Air Quality Standards for lead that were 10 times tighter than the previous standard.  Given the new lead air quality standard, Doe Run made the decision to close the Herculaneum smelter.

I bet that these were from the Executive Orders that Bill Clinton signed at the end of his term and Bush didn't do away with because of Democrat Whining.

We will make America energy independent by shutting down domestic production and forcing American business to by from abroad. We will close down all deep water operations and acquiesce to the Chinese. We will no longer buy Canadian oil sands oil. We will no longer allow oil shale to be processed on national lands.

Used to go to a place in new york that took old battries smelted them down to lead ingots then went back to north carolina to made back into battries.the place in new york ran 24/7.

There are reasons why every bullet casting book will warn to never use old batteries as a lead source.

First off as the material heats it will emit Sulfuric Acid vapor from micro liquid pockets trapped in crystalline structures. If your lucky you won't have an under the melt steam flash event. Then comes Hydrogen Sulfide and Sulfur Dioxide gases.

Smelting is done in a pressure vessel that can capture these gases and process them as well as reduce Lead oxide into metallic Lead. For the most part these processes are beyond the capabilities of a home caster.

The repercussions of this aren't just batterys and bullets.

There is a shitload of lead mined alongside precious metals, to somewhat offset the costs, and even things out when the markets go batshit.

Now what happens to all that ore? Sold to an offshore concern below current value and exported.
Just more global redistribution of American wealth, and right in line with Global Socialists international stated agenda.

Worse, the matter increases costs of mining precious metals here, further deflating the value of U.S. natural assets.

FUCK BHO!!!!!!!

Ha, small world.   I'm pretty sure I've been to that place.

Doesn't really matter what the feds say, they won't be running jack shit after the wheels fall of.  And they WILL fall off.
