Web forum hierarchy (from my experience):
1. site staff / admin - all the duties of mods plus moderating the moderators PERKS: special staff only room to talk trash about mods and users 2. moderator - moderate the users PERKS: special mod only room to talk trash about users 3. users - be a constant PITA to the mods and staff I can tell you from several years being a mod, then staff, then root admin for a local NHL team's official forum that it is a thankless pain in the royal ass job. |

Moderators edit posts, lock threads and send warnings. Staff does all the heavy lifting as far as bans and that stuff. There are different levels of staff, but I think that has something to do with ping pong balls.
