free speech means you can say whatever you want.  it doesn't mean you can go wherever you want.  it doesn't mean you can post pictures of whatever you want.  it doesn't mean you can wear any t-shirt you want.

the first amendment says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

it mentions the press separately.  writing is not the same as speaking.  we have freedom of speech AND freedom of the press.  writing a blog is not freedom of speech... it is freedom of the press.

when fuckstein was debating gun control the senator asked her "do we put 'common sense' restrictions on the first amendment the way we do to the second?"  her response was "YES, BECAUSE WE DON'T ALLOW CHILD PORN."  when you expand freedom of speech to include other activities that are not speech you create this slippery slope that can then be used against you.

wearing an american flag tshirt to school is not freedom of speech.  trespassing on a closed memorial to protest immigration law is not freedom of speech.   on the radio, someone argued that the immigration people should be allowed to trespass on the memorial because they were protesting but the veterans should not be allowed to trespass on the ww2 memorial because they were just visiting and therefore were not exercising their right to free speech.

we fuck ourselves when we don't notice these subtle liberties taken with reason and logic.  when someone says, "does the 2nd amendment mean we can have nukes" the answer is YES.  nukes are arms and the 2nd protects arms.  if you want to ban nukes then you must do it with article 5 and a revision of the bill of rights.  if you want to ban child porn that is fine because taking pictures and displaying pictures is not speech.  it could arguably be freedom of the press though.

just sayin'

If you think the only reason you can ban child porn is because it's not considered speech then you have issues. The fact you said it could arguably be defended as press confirms this.

We could talk about the speech issue, and the natural law, but I don't think you'd grasp much of it.
