he he-this guy know part of why the Demoratz are doomed-stuck up a-holes:
This is the problem with all too many people
in our party.
You write:
"Well, who would have figured that this protection could have had this unintentional result? Who would have figured that the votes of the majority of educated progressive
Americans would become overruled by the votes of a minority of marginally educated rural folks? I’m afraid we underestimated the power that these simpler people had. We
dismissed the fact that these people, who believe everything their leaders and preachers tell them no matter how irrational it is, could have any effect on our lives."
And we wonder why we don't do well in many red states? . This post typifies part of our problem. (read this sentence a few times to realize how far out on planet whacko these people are- they see ALL of the following to be signs of hickbilly life, guess they haven't read the demographics on nascar advertising-my accountant and the local bank president go to more races than any of the blue collar guys I know-they can't afford the time off and can't write the trips off as business expeses) Too many of us look down on people who eat red meat, go to church, drink beer, watch football, and like NASCAR races. All of a suddent, at some point in the last few decades, these people became persona non grata within the Democratic Party.
Is it any wonder why we have lost the House and the Senate. Here is a hint: there are numerically more red states than blue states, and we will need to win some of them to get the Senate back. Also we need to improve our performance in these states by 1-5% so that we can get enough seats to get the House back.
Here is a hint. Voters don't appreciate being told that they are stupid. Clete, your attitude drives voters who would otherwise support the Democrats away. Here is another hint. Voters aren't going to support a party who maintains an elitist view toward them.
