Nominated for two Primetime Emmys for Cinematography and Musical Score, this film is based on a true story about the Battle of Athens, which took place in Tennessee in 1946. Although the locale has been switched to Texas for the film version, the story remains virtually the same, resonating themes such as corruption, reintegration of veterans into society, and the lifetime friendships forged through serving together. History buffs will especially appreciate this film, but it's also inspiring and entertaining enough for others to enjoy as well
