A guy in my club is selling a Nova for $325. He said he could go down to $300. He is a dealer so I understand there has to be some markup. I don't expect him to be able to match a big chain store in price, so my question is whether $300 is too much.

By the way, I never thought about a Nova until I the moment I held this thing. This thing is just about the coolest pump action shotgun I have ever seen. Yes there is a lot of plastic but it feels more solid than my mossy 500

So any opinions on the price and the gun itself are welcome.

At $300 he is losing money according to my dealer price list from Benelli. Assuming this is NIB.

He is making money, but not a lot. We sell them at work, and have 12 coming in tomorrow as a matter of fact. Is it the black one with rifle sights that takes up to a 3-1/2 shell? Very popular with law enforcement here. We deal with a great deal of law enforcement types at our shop, and they tend to like them. Most are already pre-sold to them.

I own that one, at $300 its a steal. Blows the grips off of a Remington or Mossberg.

They retail here for 279.99, with 3 choke tubes and choice of 24 26 or 28" barrel.

if ur gonna be shooting the magnums..

get the recoil reducer kit..

it goes into the buttstock, its an 8 oz tube of mercury..made a decent differnce with the slugs after i installed em.

Magazine extender is good too

mine was $299 new from Hunter Sports in merrick, NY. I bought it about 2 months ago and the shotgun can handle everything up to and including 3.5" mag. The grip is nice and thick unlike a remington stock

I think I have less then $450 into my Benelli nova.

I put mag ext and recoil reducer IF I ever shoot 3"+ magnums.

It has ghost ring sights, great ergonomics, and hasn't failed on me once!!

When you take apart the nova, you'll understand why it's the best pump out there.

BTW, opinions on the looks tend to be extreme.
You'll either find someone who thinks it's the baddest looking shotty around, or you'll find someone who thinks someone beat on it with an ugly stick.

Looks had nothing to do with it for me, it was the feel, functionality, and bang for buck.
