Why we lost IMHO
Well for starters, we have become a party of special interests.
If you try and be too many things to too many people, you'll end up being nothing to anyone.

That's us. Our main focus should have been protecting freedom
and the constitution.

Where was the democratic leadership when Ashcroft started throwing US citizens in jail without trials? If there every was a time to have called a spade a spade, this was it, but we
did nothing.

But then what could we have done. Take the issue of gun rights
for example. We pander to the special interest anti-gun crowd.

What are we going to do when they start rounding up "unpatriotic"
people like us because we are a risk to "national security".

What are we going to do when they turn a blind eye after the next terrorist attack when good-ole-boys start roaming around at night looking for "Clinton Lovers" to lynch?

Worst of all, what are we going to do when the 1st terrorist nuke takes out DC and some general "assumes control" and decides
put all us "liberal terrorist lovers" in "re-education" camps?

I don't want to sound militant here but you damn well better start thinking about getting a gun unless you plan on going to the camps peacefully.

Here we are focused on Gay rights, Welfare for the poor, and gun control, while our country is turning into a police state!

So what do we do now? Can we claim to be the party that will protect and preserve the constitution?

I don't think so. We have been so busy trying to rewrite it
that we have zero credibility on this issue.

We think people should help the poor so we amended the constitution to allow us to confiscate and redistribute peoples wealth and throw them in prison and kill them if they resist.
But vote for us, we will protect you.

We hate the 2nd ammendment and want to disarm you so that when
the Govt. implements a police state you will be defensless and unable to resist as they march you into the gas chambers. But vote for us, we will protect you.

We think that if you are raped and murdered that the criminal who did it should get get off with a less severe sentence because it was not a "hate crime". But vote for us, we believe
in equal justice for all.

I could go on for the next three hours here with example after example of our parties hypocracy.

Gay bashing, Gun crime, Discrimination, etc. I hate to tell you but there's already LAWS against all these things!

We need to stop focusing on adding more icing on the cake we have baked over the last 30 years and realize that the cake itself is on FIRE!

We don't just need new party leaders, we need a new platform.

We need to expose the Republikans as the party of the police state.

We need to move radically away from the socialists who have hijacked our party leadership and adopt a platform closer to that of the Libertarians.

I've noticed that none of my screennames are still active.  I have different IP addresses for all of them, so I think I must have been outed.  One of my highest post count names has the "disruptor, blah blah" message.  They are really cracking down over there, imploding actually.  As Martha Stewart says, "It's a good thing," because the moderate soccer-mom types are the ones being screwed the most by their rabid paranoia.  Several people on the forum who don't know I'm a plant have emailed me complaining about being banned, others have asked me about why I have not posted recently.  They do apparently notice when "one of their own" disappears.  This ban-crazy atmosphere combined with the huge loss suffered and wingnut conspiracy theorists are really getting people to take notice of moderate and greenie posters who have disappeared.  The DU may go the way of the dodo if they continue to ban their most outspoken members.
