On that fateful day, I was in Belleville, Ontario which is right across the St. Lawrence River from New York State, U.S.A.

There were many Americans in town that day and the attack felt very close to home.  It seemed more like our neighbors had been attacked.  It did not seem like a foreign country had been hit, but rather our friends and neighbors.

Imagine how you would feel if you woke up one day and found out that the family next door had been murdered.  That's how it really felt.

There is a Canadian airforce base just up the round from Belleville and there were American planes landing there.   The entire town was in shock and we all felt terrible.

It's hard to believe it was twelve years ago.  Never forget.
