http://www.capradio.org/articles/2013/09/09/lead-ammunition-ban,-trust-act-pass-senate/ The California legislature powered through stacks of bills as it began its final week of the session. More than 150 bills were up for debate Monday.
One of the most controversial came in the Senate, where a proposed ban on lead hunting ammunition drew fierce words from Republican Senator Jim Nielsen. View Quote |

They didn't outlaw Safeway yet, so we're still good for dinner for a little while at least.

My home state
Fuck it, I live in Missouri now. Watching that place implode is bittersweet. |

So no more lead ammo for CA? Maybe the panic will finally end....

"You wanna go against the law-abiding hunters of the state of California, and eliminate hunting in this state, at least diminish it one further step, vote yes,” Nielsen said. The Senate did so with a 23 to 15 vote. Senators also passed the TRUST Act, which prohibits local law enforcement agencies from turning undocumented immigrants who commit minor offenses over to federal authorities. Senator Kevin de Leon said it’s an important step toward making immigrants feel welcome. He said they are not feeling like a part of the community now. Its a two hit punch for us |

I don't know what to say to the Californians here. I was lucky to be born here in KY.
If you can, get the fuck out. You will not win. Period. |

Glad I got the fuck out 6 years ago. I hear they are going after lead fishing weights as well. More ammo for us I guess

Holy shit!! I was reading through the article to see if this was a center fire ammo deal or all ammo deal when I read this little jewel
“In immigrant communities across the state of California, they’re losing faith and they’re losing trust in law enforcement,” he said. “And this is not a good sign.” |

Mostly grew up in California, lived there from '76 til '93. Wouldn't even go back for a visit now.

My state (Alaska) passed some pro-gun stuff this year, including expansion of our Stand Your Ground law. A lot of other states have passed pro-gun stuff. The only purple state to possibly fall was Colorado and time will tell if they can reverse that in the next election cycle. It might be more accurate to think that the free states are getting freer with regards to firearms, and the ban states are getting more totalitarian. There is a long term problem with a third of the US population living behind an iron curtain at the federal level, but in the state level we're doing just fine in Free America. ETA: I invested in the Basic Freedom Defense Fund in CO. I also joined NYSRPA to help their legal fight in the courts. But honestly, trying to fight back at the polls in the Ban States is futile. Barring federal action on par with the Civil Rights Act, Connecticut, NY, CA, etc are LOST. GTFO while you can. It only takes one victim behind enemy lines to file a lawsuit. Get your family out and stop feeding the beast. |
