Looks like a piece of gimmicky shit to me that won't really clean right, run out of juice, break, etc.
She thinks it would be awesome. Help me convince her that it's garbage. |

Garbage. Owned one, hated it. Plus if you have pets, it will drive them insane.

My wife wanted one too, it now sits in the garage in a box. Waste of money. You have to clean it out daily, wifey said she would but didn't. IT would die under furniture or in a corner it couldn't get out of often enough that the battery needs replaced, as it won't keep a charge for more than a minute. So I threw it in a box in the garage. She went and purchased a normal vacuum cleaner a couple weeks back so I think it'll be safe to finally throw it out.

My wife bought one. It's amazing on tile or wood floors and crap on carpet. It must be emptied out daily as well. My entire common living space is tile and we have 3 dogs, so it was well worth the price for us.
If she buys one, use bed, bath, and beyond and one of their 20% off coupons. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

If you have dogs and wood/tile floors, they are great.
I personally have a Neato and sometimes it does weird stuff but ultimately my floors are clean and I don't have to sweep or vacuum |

I bought one from costco. Couple things.
- house has to be clean to use it which begs question why get it - carpet tassles will break it - does not clean house only main areas no corners or edges which begs question why get it. Now mine sits under dinning room table on charger hasnt seen action in 6 months. That reminds me - for violating my 6 month rule I think I toss it in the dumpster. |

so whats easier:
to argue with her over and over and get hurt feelings or just buy her one -- if the shoe was on the other foot about a new glock or kimber what would you want

I'm going to have to echo the others and say DON'T.
We got one a few years back and found it to be loud, unable to cross from tile to carpet without getting stuck, it would either run out of power or dust bin space and constantly squawk for attention. The amount of effort we had to put into keeping it empty, keeping the cat from murdering it and monitoring where it was so it didn't crawl under the sofa and die was equal to the effort of just dragging an upright vacuum out and doing the job ourselves. Plus it never got the job done well or fast enough. It would quite literally take DAYS to get our living room carpet what it considered to be "clean"... while it would take minutes to vacuum it ourselves and get the carpet actually clean. |
|
I have one and it works GREAT!
Seriously, I set it to go while I am at work during the day. It picks up tons of stuff I miss with the regular vac. |
|
It's less than a case of ammo, and will probably amuse her longer.

We had one 10 years ago or so. worked real good on the hardwood floor and used to dock itself again. I think my GSD murdered it if I remember right.

|
My roomba does a good job keeping the pet fur picked up, I'd rather push a button and leave the room than vacuum the whole damn thing by hand.
Of course bigger spills require traditional vacuuming, but I don't have any kids or dumbasses in my place so that never really happens. |
|
1) Buy Roomba
2) Buy clay pigeon launcher 3) Get Shotgun 4) ??? 5) PROFIT |
|
Buy it, then when the novelty wears off, you can use the $100 wasted purchase as leverage to get what you want.
EVERYTHING must be picked up prior to use. The batteries go bad easily, and cost $35+ to replace. Easily gets stuck under recliners or other furniture what have a certain height gap. Great however on tile or wood floors as long as the above conditions are remedied, and you empty it out everyday. |

I have 3 kids, 2 dogs, and 2 cats.
Ours lasted about a week, then croaked, and I took it back. It's just easier to run the swiffer over the kitchen and run the vacuum over the living areas. |
