... So you are still fence sitting about Arizona's next Governor?

You thin Janet feels this way?

Note the part in bold.

Randall,

Thank you for taking the time to contact me about the NRA event in Tucson. I
understand your reaction because over the years so many people in political
office have abandoned principle, in the words of
President Bush last Sunday, "as soon as the butane gets turned up a little."

Randall, you and all of Arizona's sportsmen and defenders of the Second
Amendment should know such an approach to politics has never been my
approach. I considered what was happening in the Tucson community in the
wake of the recent murders and felt it would be insensitive to the victims
and their loved ones to continue campaigning as though these ruthless
murders had not happened. I suspended all personal campaign activities in
Tucson out of that conviction, including a scheduled fundraiser with Steve
Forbes and other planned events. Missing the event with you and Mr. Heston
and the many friends who were in attendance was a great disappointment to
me, but I had to do what I felt was right by the victims of these shootings
and their grieving families. Rest assured that I realize the only thing that
could have saved these innocent women, short of an impossible-to-provide
full-time police force on the campus, would have been a law-abiding and
well-trained citizen on the premises armed with the means of stopping the
killer. And you can quote me on that.

I am with you as I have always been on defense of our Second Amendment
rights, Randall. I need your vote and your enthusiastic support to win this
race and protect those rights as governor. If you have had a
chance to follow the race closely over the past few months, you have a good
idea of what we are up against and the kind of hard-left direction Arizona's
government will take if we do not prevail. Please help me in preventing
that.

Best regards,

Matt Salmon

P.S.  Although you are under no obligation to do so, I know you have an
extensive email list, and I would appreciate you forwarding my response to
your list.

Well Matt already had 2 votes from this household.

He IS a true friend of the gun owner.

And PLEASE GOD, the next Governor of the Great Free State of Arizona.

And this just shows you why ANTI-GUN Janet cannot be elected.

Where in the HELL are the BARRY GOLDWATERS when you need them?

ALL YOU ARIZONA GUYS HAD BETTER BE REGISTERED TO VOTE AND GET OUT & VOTE TUESDAY OR WE WILL BE SCREWED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Why doesn't he put this in a TV commercial?

His refusal to make this a issue is why he is 16 percentage points behind Napolitano.

I am going to vote for him, but it will be a vote against Napolitano and the Dems, not FOR Salmon.

He doesn't seem to have any idea how to run a state wide campaign.

I don't beleve that there are many fence sitters in this race at all-just a lot of old people who value their prescription drug coverage more than their gun rights.

Salmon had my vote before he even announced.

But he's gonna lose this fight.

Napolitano took the gloves off a long time ago and is scoring big with wall-to-wall cheapshot TV ads against Salmon. She's beating him badly with the "undecideds" who are really just the "uninformed".

Salmon hasn't even got off the stool yet and it's already the 9th round.

He's an honest, decent, conservative white guy who's running against a Lesbian Democrat ex-Clinton appointee.

You do the math.

... That's not right, but do your fellow Arizonan's a favor and let everyone know that Janet is a gungrabber, she is a mudslinger where Matt refuses too and in office Mr. Salmon always kept his word while during his tenure in Congress.

Is this the same Matt Salmon that did not attend the Tucson NRA rally even though he was scheduled to out of respect for the shooting victims?

What the F**K is your problem your stupid SOB.

Matt Salmon appears to be as spineless as you are rude and stupid. He talks the talk but does not walk the walk.

Who the hell are you in your infinite wisdom to demand people shut up? Are you some kind of thought police that story was relative to your original post and shows that Mr. Salmon dose not act in manner suggested in the letter to your brother.

What ever I posted did not deserve such a rude and childish response.

I wish Taft was like that. It'd be nice to have a Governor that doesn't back down from pressure.

Now we just need 49 more governor candidates to make the same statement and we'll be on our way to being a constitutional republic again.

You are a long way from here, you have no clue as to what is going on here except what you read on cnn and yet you chime in with your drivel.  I'm sure thats what was meant by STFU.
He did'nt just cancel his NRA appearance, he suspended ALL campaign efforts for a short time following the UofA shootings.  His opponent, the liberal lesbo, kept right on campaigning and mud slinging.
I don't agree with him not attending the rally, but he felt it was the right thing to do out of repect for those who died.
I really wish he would get more agressive. I really don't want that bitch dyke for governor.

The fact of the matter is, we here in Arizona would not tell you how to vote for your Governor, so don't tell us how. I think Mr Salmon acted on his beliefs about what he should do. His stance is decidedly pro 2-amendment. Your attacking him because of what Iraq intelligence agency said is ludicrous. When Tennessee has their next Gubernatorial election I will be sure to Attack you pro gun candidates. MYOB.

He got mine, my moms, my grandparents votes.
