Am I the only one who has a hidden cache of ammo, food stuffs, and other supplies buried just in case TSHTF?  I live on a small 150 acre ranch in south central Texas and have several 20mm Ammo cans buried with supplies in them.  What I have stored is 2000 rds of .223, 1000 rds .40 S&W, non-perishable foods, and first-aid items.  These are just in case things get nasty someday.  I also have a small subterainian cave that would provide excellent shelter and concealment from whatever or whomever.  Is this wierd???????

i think it sounds like you got your sh*t togeather. i plan on doing something similar someday. if you really want to be ready bury a weapon or 2 out there. it owuld be best if you had something that didnt have a papertrail to be fallowed. if one day SHTF is getting close i will report some stuff stolen and have a little buried cache someware.

I want to ask WHY? the way i look
at it. if i had to hide to survive. then this world is not worth livin in. most case's if it
was bad enough to send in the Army then a lot
of people be watching there p's and Q's, and have to bury there weapons. Oh sure i have hiding places but to me its Just not worth it. if i die i die so be it. ive came close to getting killed. about five years ago i was driving my truck the brake's froze up. a train coming strait for me i jumped out right before the train hit my truck. later that day i realized one thing i can be taken out of this world any day any time of this week regardless i had a ar15, ak47, or a AT4 anti-tank weapon. i seen one gun owner ready for the shit hit the fan senario he died of a hart attack! to me you can be prepared for anything(Cave's-Food-Weapons-etc!) but youll be taken out by the least obvious. they will be a very small precentage of people fighting very few and far between.

I think it is a great idea. Preparations should include also disasters likely in the area. On my Colorado ranch, I have to worry about blizzards and forest fires mainly, so most of my stores are for that and underground living in case of fire.
I just don't have the cash to build up the supplies to last years. Of course, because I am a ammo maniac, I do have enough ammo to last a decade.

I too dug a cave, but being in Florida and the water table being only 2 feet from the ground it made it tough.

I haven't got anything buried just yet, but as we don't know what the future holds it's not a bad idea to get ready. Picking up cheapo old single shot shotguns and sporterized/butchered military clunkers through private sales doesn't cost much and might pay off some day. It makes a good excuse to buy a couple more guns, anyway!

intelegent strategic preparation, thats the name of the game. i would build a small place into that cave and make damn sure its consealed. its a great idea, wish i was there i would help you.  the supplies on many are better than many without supplies.  [;)]

Home made "time capsule"...pvc pipe-4or 5 inch....cut to desired length...glue the threaded ends on for caps....can`t remember which is heavier, schedule 40 or sched. 80...anyway, use the heavier stuff!...does sound like the old "bomb shelter" days...sounds like a perfect place for a 870 or 500 "marinecoat" finish.......[shotgun]

SS109   " because I am a ammo maniac, I do have enough ammo to last a decade. "

How much ammo is enough for a decade ?
I would like to see some numbers on that .
Maybe you have a small subterrian cave filled with it .

Don't mind me , I'm jealous .
