If you have:
1. a good sized C- clamp
2. a piece of wood about the length of you hand
(I use a thick piece of floor molding)
3. a socket set with a few torx head bits or Allen heads.
(for some reason GM loves torx)
4. a floor jack
5. about an hour to kill.
you can change the pads and rotors on just about any vehicle .
I did it for the first time about a month ago on another vehicle.
Its WAY easier than you think.
If you can disassemble/assemble an AR-15 you can change disk brakes.
[red]save your self about 80% and do it your self.
dealers/mechanics make a killing from brake jobs[/red]

I have 45k on my 99 silverado still on the original brakes.
Just had the 50k service checkup done, everything ok and plenty of life left on the pads. Whoo hoo!!
