For children of the 1980's, what is "the song" that you remember most?  I'm making a playlist for someone for their birthday, and he was class of 1986.

also come to mind when I think of 80s songs

Fine, call me a pussy.....

Summer of '69.....Bryan Adams....

For me at least....probably not the most memorable, GNR - Jungle

This song doesn't even have words...but is the best. And may as well represented the 80's for those of us that grew up on the beach (perminant vacation) in the 80's

That's tough. A lot of power ballads and hair band stuff from then.

It fit Miami of the time, when driving around. So did stuff like most of Genesis, Laura Branigan's "Self Control"...

Most memorable for me would probably be The Safety Dance, because the first time my friends and I saw the video on MTV, we all sat transfixed by the sheer scale of the "WTF factor".

Flock of Seagulls "I Ran". It's cheesy as hell but it is classic 80's.

Related, GTA Vice City is available for tablets now. That had the best 80's playlists ever compiled, heard while driving around in 1986 in the game.

I threw in this one...since I AM his "Twisted Sister"...and he reminds me SO much of Kyle from Road Trip (if you remember the scene in the movie).
He was a drummer in HS and the guys air drumming in the Road Trip scene make me laugh every time.

Yes.  It's a memorable 80's pop song from a memorable 80's movie in typical 80's style with keytar and all.
