For children of the 1980's, what is "the song" that you remember most? I'm making a playlist for someone for their birthday, and he was class of 1986.

Fine, call me a pussy.....
Summer of '69.....Bryan Adams.... For me at least....probably not the most memorable, GNR - Jungle |

That's tough. A lot of power ballads and hair band stuff from then.

Most memorable for me would probably be The Safety Dance, because the first time my friends and I saw the video on MTV, we all sat transfixed by the sheer scale of the "WTF factor".

Flock of Seagulls "I Ran". It's cheesy as hell but it is classic 80's.

Most anything by Bonnie Tyler, but especially "Total Eclipse of the Heart."
Blondie's "Rapture." |
|
Related, GTA Vice City is available for tablets now. That had the best 80's playlists ever compiled, heard while driving around in 1986 in the game.

Quoted: Yes. It's a memorable 80's pop song from a memorable 80's movie in typical 80's style with keytar and all. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Don't you, forget about me. Yep, a very good answer if we have to single one out. |
