At least they are open to talking about it.
Point of sale tax stamp would be nice. http://www.guns.com/2013/07/23/atf-requests-changed-to-sbr-application/ - From the article - So now’s your chance. Let the BAFTE hear your opinions. They’re asking for them. Contact Gary Schaible, National Firearms Act Branch at [email protected] and put in your two cents. |

I'm open to anything that will reduce the ridiculous wait time.
If not for application and wait time BS I would have SBRs and cans. I'm super lazy about that.
If you can pass a nics check and a get handgun purchase permit you should be able to buy a darn SBR over the counter.
While this would be nice, I will point out they will ALWAYS try to fuck us with any large set of rule changes.

how bout we make it a nics check and cash and carry same with suppressors
That would rake in money if they just made it 1 form and once approved you just need to pay 200 bucks for any NFA item.
Should be on the spot issue. The FFL should have a book of stamps option like you're at the post office. The whole NFA process is a complete fucking joke. 6-9 months for a NICS and some paper work.

Cash and carry is great but what if I want to build my own?

In MN you have to get a "pistol purchase permit" (ID card w/additional background check) to buy a handgun or assault rifle. If you have a CCW that works as your permit to purchase. |
If it was point of sale, I would no longer buy non-sbr'd guns.

Change what is considered short barreled to say below 14 inches or just do away with the paper work and just collect the tax at the time of sale.

Which, unless we're getting rid of it, I'd rather not do. Point of sale forms might not... Maybe... Kind of.. CLEO signoff is still the biggest PITA. But for trust holders, a point of sale form would be kick ass. |

First thing is to index the $200 stamp to inflation. Hasn't gone up in price since 1934? Lets see 1934=$200 2012=$3384.92 I tell you THIS will come out. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I emailed him earlier today with this :
These are my ideas, which posted in a thread yesterday. If this would speed up the process by, immediate payment, trust won't need to be included because forms will be filed with previous ones. Since previous forms were accepted then that will be taken into consideration and insure an even faster approval time, like a month not eight. Forms and payment done online with a database previous users can log into and check on their old forms, pending forms and trust which can be amended online to add items as they are acquired. At anytime you can log in and see where your form is, if its been approved or needs to be corrected and a tracking number for a more precise delivery. |

anyone have an idea how to reword the "LEO sign off" for areas that don't have a friendly LEO? Maybe that could be a suggestion.

The government wants any tax money they can get. |

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Not gonna happen...
but... make purchasing a SBR or a suppressor at point of sale (brick and mortar) a NICs check and a $200.00 stamp purchase over the counter added to the sale price. Now that does not fix the 7.5 inch "AR pistol" I have had sitting in my vault for 5 years good to go... I do not have the money for a trust and a stamp. It seems the "system" is being bottle-necked by a flood of applications anyway. I'd love to buy a .22 suppressor over the counter with the stamp/$200.00 tax at the point of sale! |

View Quote Lets see 1934=$200 2012=$3384.92 So in 1934 a mg stamp would of cost $3384 How many stamps were sold in 34'? I bet none. So they basically outlawed mg's in 34'. I just don't think this will go the way all you hope. |

How nice of them. We get to discuss "shall not be infringed".

It would be nice if I could get my paper work back faster then it takes to make a human child, from start to finish.

Not sure how much flexibility they are going to have with this one. It all really depends on what the law requires in terms of verifying body. |
