Any suggestions? Preferable seafood.
Thanks |

We just got back 3 days ago. We loved Crabby Mikes, in Southside Beach. There's a LOT of great places at Broadway at the Beach, we especially love Liberty Tavern. |

I enjoyed Creek Ratz when I was there last year.

I don't care what you're told DO NOT go to The Original Benjamin's Calabash Seafood. I've had better seafood off of a Chinese buffet.
|
|
Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is awesome. They've got great food and drink there. That's at Broadway at the Beach, which is full of good places.

I have yet to have a decent meal in Myrtle Beach. View Quote I had a few at a small joint called Nalu's when I was down there but I was further south in Garden City/Murrells Inlet. Service was slow as hell though. |

The Chesapeake House is good. Otherwise drive to Murrells Inlet and pick whatever looks good to you. Inlet Crab House, Nance's, Russell's, Lee's Inlet Kitchen are all solid.

Buffet=(Crab Legs)-Crabby Mikes or any of the "Calabash" places. Most are about the same, unless you want something besides crab legs & prime rib.
Good seafood=Murrell's Inlet Marsh Walk- 6-7 restaurants in a small area with everything you could want with a good atmosphere. Drunken Jacks- Damn good hushpuppies and the best Mahi dish I've ever had. Bubba's Love Shack- cheaper fare- great place to drink a beer. Wicked Tuna- Heard it was good, but it is new and was packed. Nance's- best oysters I've had in a long time. |

I wish Sam Snead's was still open. We had some epic meals there.

|
Little bit south in Garden City, but Sara J's was really good the last time I was there. http://www.sarajs.com/ordereze/default.aspx

The customer service there is second to none! I love that place. |

You can go across the border into Calabash North Carolina and just about any seafood restaurant is going to be good. Chuck's Steak House in Myrtle Beach is known for steaks; but also usually has a nice selection of seafood.
|
|
there is a restaurant down at murrells inlet crazy sister marina, its very nice, they have a very long dock you can walk along and look at the marsh, if you can catch the boats when they come in its interesting to see the fish they caught. the food at the restaurant was pretty good, I cant remember the name but its right next door, they have pictures of dogs all around the place and the dogs are wearing suits in some pictures

It is everywhere and it is lame sauced garbage with jerks working there. It is a cop out, like wanting something special while on vacation and going to a McDonalds. |

The best place to eat in Myrtle Beach is DRIVE-TO-CHARLESTON.
People from South Carolina don't go to Myrtle Beach for many excellent reasons. Why do people from out of state flock to the absolute worst place in SC to vacation? |
|
Run up to Calabash, or in Little River, Capt. Juel's Hurricane.

Why do people from out of state flock to the absolute worst place in SC to vacation? View Quote The fuck?? I was born in SC in 1962, spent 6 years out of state as an Air Force brat. So I have basically been here all my life. I go every year for the past 17 or 18 years to the Red Neck Rivera! And all my Red Neck buddies go too! I follow a simple plan to enjoy the area. Drive to condo, unload car. Go to grocery store, buy lots of beer and food. Go down to the beach and stay the fuck there and avoid all the yankees!! As far as food, I have only found I have found worth a shit is in Calabash across the border or down south in Murrel's Inlet as others have suggested. I agree with the stay away from Benjamen's. over priced frozen shit heated up for the buffet. For the best steaks, I've been told New York Prime is the shit. Pricy, never been there though. Past two or three years, I just stay at the condo and cook my own shit. Now here's a little secrete to make a MB trip better. Avoid the MB area and go north to North MB or even better, I'm staying at Cherry Grove this year. All still MB, but less crowded. |

My wife and I ate at a place called The Sea Captain's House. Pricey but very good.

I have yet to have a decent meal in Myrtle Beach. I guess that's just the nature of the beast, being a tourist trap and all. As a matter of fact it was so bad the last time we were there we're never going back. There are better alternatives for a hillbilly such as me. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I go to Myrtle every year to sit on private balcony surfside. Not for the food. I survive on sunlight , alcohol , and APPETIZER. A day in Myrtle should go like this....wake up at 10a.m. down elevator to beach. Watch bikini show until snack bar opens.
Consume fruity alcohol. Put on flip flops, grab towel, walk beach to Pier 14 restaurant. Sit outside on pier and order shark bites and favorite rum drink. CONSUME. PAY. Walk back to hotel....shower....walk one block to DIRTY DONS order pitchers of fruity alcohol get free T-shirt. Order the platter, APPETIZE. Or bucket o shells. More PITCHERS and T's for extended family. PAY. CRAWL 1 bock to BEACH BUMZ. Drink 1 drink from each bar=4. Pick favorite. Sidewalk, inside, porch, or TERRACE. Leave at close. Walk beach back to private balcony. REPEAT TILL BROKE. |
