Wife and I saw his lastest flick, "Bullet To The Head" over the weekend.  Gawd, am I glad I didn't go to a theater to see this.  I woulda been throwing crap at the screen.  When you get right down to it, if it only had a new script, different actors, better direction, and maybe a better title, it would have been okay.  The only redeeming factor it had was for a brief moment, a virtual split-second, Sarah Shahi was naked.  That alone did not make it worth the PPV fee, but it was better than if she had remained clothed the entire time.

So my question is:

Stallone; is it time for him to quit trying to be relevant, or was it all someone else's fault?

At this point yes.. Go away and don't screw it up any more than it is...

Though while I guess I'm behind the times until a few days ago I had no idea that he had written Rocky himself.. Always figured he just played the part not wrote the thing

Loved the latest Rambo movie but Stallone is a gun grabbing asshole so I won't see any of his latest movies unless a new Rambo comes out.  He probably just derps over guns because that's the cool thing to do in Hollywood - all those actors are weak willed.

I'm not sure why that was edited as there was no nudity and it was hosted on youtube.  However she is hot.

Yes. Rocky is done and hopefully Rambo will be allowed to die an honorable death.

Stallone needs to fuck off in a big way.

The first Expendables was OK, but Jason Statham was more entertaining to watch in that movie than Stallone was. Overall REDS was a much better movie.

The second Expendables was a resounding "meh" at best.

The last Rambo was good.

This too.

How the hell someone can be so anti-gun and make so many flicks that involve a lot of violent gunplay is beyond me.

I enjoyed "Bullet to the head", I thought it was one of his better movies. Next to the old and new Rambo, I'd say it was his best work.

He's been known to show up in a few stinkers throughout his career. I can't remember the names, they were so bad. The one where he was a truck driver/ competition arm wrestler then the one with Dolly Parton where he's a singer.

Making pornos is the upper limit of Stallone's acting ability.

Rocky could have been made by any actor with basic acting lessons and been just as mediocre.

His career strategy is interesting.

Since the beginning, he has only had the talent to play 2 characters: Rocky and Rambo.  Both of which were essentially violent meat-heads with different background stories.  And he ran them both into the ground with too many sequels; wrenching every last dollar he could out of them.   Everything else he has ever attempted has been god awful.

He is a two trick pony with long-standing, powerful friends.  Whenever he needs more money he exerts some leverage to pull together financing for another sequel that NOBODY wants to see.  He needs to call it quits before he hurts himself.

Another third party anecdotal - from when Stallone bought a house on Star Island in Miami.  If you were hired to do any contracting work on his house, there were strict rules you had to follow.  Among those rules were:

-- If you were working in a room and Stallone came in, you were to get to a stopping point and then leave the room.  You were not to re-enter the room unless Stallone left, or the project manager asked you back in.
-- If you happened upon Stallone during your duties, you were forbidden to look him in the eye.  You had to lower your head until he passed.  You were forbidden to address him or speak to him unless spoken to first.
-- No smoking anywhere on the property.
-- No eating or drinking anything in his house, garage, patio, or any other part of the residence.  For meals, even just to grab a quick drink, you had to go outside, to a part of the property where you couldn't be seen.

You guys are nuts: Expendables 1 was terrible; it tried to be serious and failed hard.

Expendables 2 didn't try to be anything but a cheesy, one-liner-filled throwback to the glory days of action cinema and it succeeded brilliantly.

Yes.  Sorry - I forgot it was just RED.  Helen Mirren plays a bad-assed old broad in a most satisfactory fashion...
