My dad went to visit his mother last night. He came back to my place with an old Marlin .22 he learned to shoot with. It was my grandfather's. He died this year and we are trying to ID and date his guns.
My father and his brother both learned to shoot with this rifle so we are guessing it was purchased around the late 1940's. It has no markings other than
The Marlin Firearms Corp
22 long rifle only -smokeless greased
It has an 8 rnd steel mag and the bolt handle is removable from the bolt. 23" thin barrell with typical iron sights.
Any info you guys might have would be appreciated.
