This is probably not going to be my last post from shipboard, but it IS going to be the last time I will have time to write comfortably.
All of us here on 'The Bucket' want to thank AR15.com for keeping us posted on all the news of the shootings and the fun on the forums.
Right now the vessel is undergoing a critical time. Crew change is just around the corner and the anticipation has made channel fever has set in bad. The guys are pretty keyed up and are looking toward getting off. This is the time mistakes and errors in judgement are more apt to happen. I'm not going to get much sleep until I get off.
To help alleviate the tension and take the crew's mind off of things, yesterday i started rattling steel balls in my hand, and saw to it that strawberry shortcake was served at the evening meal. Of course, at 2100,I went into the galley for leftover strawberries and they were missing.(Or they were after I quietly tossed them over the side!)
Last night during the midnight watch change, I started raising hell about the missing strawberries.....
Started yelling about making everyone turn in their keys, etc. Got a bucket of non skid sand and a ladle, you got the idea.
The few guys that are onto what I'm doing are roflao-ing. (and keeping their mouths shut)The rest are either bewildered, and a couple are outright scared.
Anyway, it's a pretty good cure for channel fever.(For you younger members, rent 'The Caine Mutiny' w/ Bogie sometime. Youll understand this thread.
Anyway, thanks for everything.
BTW, some of you have IM'd me regarding working on the water. Please wait and I'll try and write up some type of explaination and see what I can do about getting one of you computer saavy guys to either post it or maybe I can email it to any interested people.
Gotta catch up on the paperwork. Adios.
