"Ambushed: A War Reporter's Life On The Line," by Ian Stewart

I picked up this book because it's about West Africa, a place that seems to be slowly tearing itself to pieces lately. The author worked for the wire services all over Africa and Asia.

I got as far as page 21, when I found this little gem:

"We sat in the shade of the porch and smoked my Marlboros as Chea showed off his assault rifle with pride. 'Have you ever shot anyone?' Chea asked me through my interpreter. Several older soldiers joined us on the porch and listened to our conversation.
'No,' I answered. 'I don't like guns.'

I stopped right there and really have no interest in going any further.
