Small pistol primers in .45?

Am I seeing this right?

Yep, over a year now. They are in those black and maroon boxes.

Edit: Federal Champion

It has been around for a while. Separate, load later. Or scrap it.

+1.  Yep great for only having to get primers in one size.  PITA for having to sort brass and change primer seat.

Yup, finding more and more Federal and CCI Blazer small pistol primed brass in 45 ACP.  Just separate it from the large primer cases and load as normal with SP primers.

It's a great financial move on their part...just keep collecting them until you have a decent amount.

holy shit. that could be bad news when you dont notice its a small and you try to cram a large in. Of course, I have the "dont worry, it will fit. I just gotta slam it in there harder" syndrome

Why is this news to people. This has been done for years. I have a bunch of small primer pocket 45 acp some of it 20 years old or older. Nothing new here move along.

Yep, now I get to take a second look at all my 45 brass. Maybe I'm under a rock or something but I didn't know about this.

I've destroyed numerous depriming pins with that attitude. I've since learned that drinking and reloading don't mix.

I may have destroyed a primer trying to figure out why it wouldn't seat.

They have used those cases with some of the other ATK owned brands as well.

I'm still finding 6.8 SPC in mine that has mixed large and small primer pockets. Thought I had it all segregated.

Send it all to me.  I don't have a problem with it and I'm one of the few that sorts/inspects pistol brass.

I prefer the small primers.  45ACP was the only thing I have that takes large primers.  I would much rather have everything take the same size so I have less sizes to keep on hand.

Makes me sad when I here folks scrap the small primer brass.

Yup. Get a few every now and then when I'm processing brass. Pisses me off.

My thoughts as well.

I'll pay shipping if anyone wants to scrap some .45 spp brass
