I was watching a discussion regarding the Syria situation and their use of Sarin on Syrians rebels.
As you may recall, the President warned the Syrians that the movement of, or use of chemical weapons were a "red line" that they should not cross. Of course, this was an implied threat from us if they did this. The Syrians have now done this in defiance of that threat. The question is how should we respond? If we do nothing, the tinpot dictators of the world will assume that a warning from the US is not something that necessarily needs to be taken seriously. However, if we do respond, we have to dedicate assets to do this. Now - the question isn't what Obama will do - the question is what do you think we should do? Poll added - multiple answers allowed. |

Words have consequences. You can't say the use of chemical weapons is crossing the line and then not act.

Let them kill eachother and when the last one is sitting on a sand dune.......drone strike!

No good answer. Getting involved in yet another mid-eastern war is not something we need to be doing. In Syria it's not entirely clear who the good guys are or even who is calling the shots. Assad or perhaps one of Assad's crew called our bluff. And I suspect it was a bluff all along.

Stay the hell out of other peoples business. We are broke. Problem is our dumbass in chief promised we would not allow them to cross the chemical weapon line. Now they called his bluff. Think Iran or any other nation we want to influence will believe him if he doesn't act on this? He's going to undo 75+ years of America's foreign policy word meaning something. |

Not our fight.
Picking sides generally backfires. We should do nothing and stop sending the rebels body armor and NVGs. |

It has not even been proven yet. Lets hold our horses for a bit. ....or we can become useful idiots for the Salafists, terrorists, and other groups who have a vested interest in showing such. |

Why would Syria use chemical weapons knowing the US would intervene? Makes no sense.
Q:What should we do? (Besides the money we already give the FSA) A:NOTHING |
|
We should be watching great snackbar liveleak vids. Nothing else.

I used to be ALL about playing hero... stepping-in to save the poor, peaceful souls who are just victims of their "neighborhood" in the M.E.
Then I realized that it doesn't matter what we do... they will HATE us, use OUR money to bring terror to us, etc, etc, etc. It's like being a cop and getting involved in a domestic. NO one "wins" those things. WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO TO STOP VIOLENCE THAT'S BEEN GOING-ON FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS OVER THERE? Not a damn thing... Only thing I support is stepping-in to some degree to kick some ass if they ever mount a full-scale war on Israel. |
|
Who fucking cares what those fucking savages do to each other? Not our damn problem.
I could give a rats ass about Mulisms using chemical weapons against other Muslims. Its not worth the life of one Marine defending, no matter what one side did to the other side. |
|
Muslims killing muslims. I'm fine with that. Sell both sides nerve gas.

Let them kill themselves. No reason to be involved. Bitch about two foreign wars then become involved in another. Brilliant!!!

Fifteen people were killed maybe. All that proves is they are incompetent with using chemical weapons or the chemicals themselves are practically useless. Its the tail wag to support Arab Spring because they're incapable of bringing Assad's downfall about by themselves. |

Both sides hate us.
Whoever eventually wins this will hate us. We should just let them kill each other so there will be fewer of them to hate us. |

I thought we were only giving "humanitarian aid". I vote "fuck em" let them kill each other. But you know the closet muslim is going to help them out one way or the other. |
|
The only thing we should be doing is seeding that country with human intel assets for future benefit. |
|
Outsource a massive invasion to the Indians. Pay them with an aircraft carrier that we were going to scrap.

we sit back and watch the middle east kill each other, sounds good to me

Let them eff up their own place.
We don't need to lose any of our guys in this mess. |
|
So eleven of you want to use drone or cruise strikes against the regime in order to aid Salafists, terrorists, and the Muslim Brotherhood backed FSA. Nice.
