The title says it all.

Got reservations in a couple months to a nice little "steakhouse" about 5 or 6 hours from here.

Why drive that long for a steak? Well, because it's 26-32 ounces worth of Top Fucking Sirloin, that's way. One dinner, the rules say you can't split it. Daily fresh rolls, soup, iced tea or lemonade for your drink....looks like it's served by the quart!

A salad if you want to go along with it.

Not a very big menu though, it's either the steak or an entire grilled chicken. And no coke.

Plus, she opted for the package deal and we got one of their cabins to sleep off the steak dinner too.

Cowboy Dinner Tree (No credit cards, no debit cards, no kidding)

And a youtube video of the restaurant, the meals, etc.

Youtube link...can't embed until i renew my membership next week.

We're bringing a camera and if I remember I'm going to try to bring enough gear for a proper Arfcom Dinner Pic

On accounta we aint invented no picker upper things out here yet. Just sharp pointy things or your booger hooks.Personally, I think he made the right choice given the options.

I'd eat there without a doubt, but it seems like a lot of fail cooking those steaks.

I dunno, at about $1.00/lb. he can stick a pointy thing in it if he wants.

Funny ~ my first thought when I saw your post was "sounds like that cowboy place in Silver Lake".  I've picked up their brochure and my wife is dying to go.  Post an update in the Oregon hometown forum when you get back.

Doesn't look or sound very good.  I can get shitty meals for far cheaper.

You're gonna drive 5 hours for a top sirloin?

10 hr. round trip for a cheap steak and a tater?

Hell, for the gas alone you could get a nice prime rib-eye or porterhouse at Pappas Bros. or Ruth's Chris. And something better than pink lemonade or tea to drink with it.

For what you're about to spend driving 10 hours, buying dinner and staying in a hotel, you could go to Costco or Sam's and buy an entire rib primal and they would cut it into steaks for you. You could fire up the grill and eat better steak until you puked...and you could do it for 3-4 days.

I can dig the eating at a historical spot. And the prices are very good.

Just seems like y'all could find better food and a hotel room closer to home for much less.

Unless it's just about visiting the place. Nothing wrong with that.

Hell, one day I really want to drive out to Amarillo and try to conquer that 72 oz. thang. If it was just the steak I know I could do it. But you have to eat the potato and rolls as well... lol

If I was in the area, I'd eat there to for the fuck of it. Plus that Angel Broscoe looks purty.

But I'm no fan of top sirloin, or any sirloin steak, so going out of the way I would not.

Looks fun though, take pictures or we're sending you another locked safe.
