Bought a cuff and chain today in early S&W box. No camera with me on this business trip but I found a pic online. Anyone tell me about them, and what this was used for? Only one cuff, and a large ring on the other end of the chain.

Route cuff through briefcase handle then through loop on other end of chain. Chain briefcase to wrist, hope bad guys don't have hatchet.

First thing that comes to mind is a cuff that is attached to a bench or bolted to a wall in a holding room.

Looks like one from an Intake Bench. You put a 2" or 3" steel pipe through the ring, and used the single cuff on your suspect. A lot of agencies now just use regular cuffs once they're in Intake.
