Recently David Letterman voiced a proposal to have I-465 here in Indianapolis named after him. This idea was offensive to me so I wrote to our local news station, WISH TV, to voice my opinion. I said: "In regards to David Letterman's request to have I-465 named after him, I say no! Not only that, I say hell no!
That gapped tooth, east coast socialist, clinton democrat doesn't deserve to have a goat trail named after him, let alone an interstate highway." Mike Ahern, the local news anchor, read most of my response on the "Mike's Mailbag" portion of the Thursday 6:00 news. I would like to state here and now that I apologize to anyone with gaps in their teeth. I should have left that part out.
Some of you may remember Letterman's opening one of his shows with a rousing pep session for clinton before the 1996 election. He said something like, "bill clinton is gonna kick Bob Dole's butt." His audience cheered. (I know bill clinton isn't capitalized. I can't bring myself to do it.)
