Yemeni officials say they do not consider the blast an act of sabotage, but a diplomat at the French embassy told the AFP news agency it was believed to be a terrorist attack.[/red] I wonder if this will change the French view on the "war on terror"?? Or will they work it back to the US being at fault, for "antagonizing" terrorists. |

Remember in 1986. We were bombing Lybia. France refused to let us use their airspace for the F-111s out of Britain. One of the F-111 crews hit the French Embassy in tripoli. Maybe if they hadn't been required to fly an extra 1400 miles, and had been able to sleep in a little later before the mission.....

This is a wake-up call for European nations that they are just as much at risk of being attacked by these muslim extremists as we are. Now will they change their attitude about the war on terror since this hits a bit closer to home? Or will they continue to sit on their pacifist fanny's and allow this to happen without retaliating?

And PLEASE don't talk about "Europeans" in general based on what SOME European countries are doing. There are as many European countries that are behind Bush (Britain, Denmark, etc) as there are whining (France, Germans, Russia, etc.) Just my $.02 |

That's not what I am saying at all. But what I do have a problem with is the nations who not only don't support us directly, but badmouth our efforts as well. In other words, if they don't wanna help us, fine. But they should just stop whining and calling our efforts to root out terror "immoral" or "dangerous" for world peace. Now, I realize that some European nations are active in the fight....namely Britain and a couple of others. But it seems the majority of Europe isn't exactly with us in this fight or even interested in terrorism, period. And as I asked earlier, will France retaliate for the strike (if it was terrorism) acting in their own defense, or will they sit on their butts? Knowing how they are, my money is on the latter. |

Why should the US get involved? By current European standards, we should have been supporting the IRA. That is funny, American planes ferried the GSG-9 troop that took down the plane at Mogadishu. I do distinctly remember the Germans releasing the three captured terrorists who massacred the Israeli athletes at Munich (they are still quite popular among the European left and still free men). Those damn basque seperatists wanting their own country. Their as bad as the Albanians (oops, I mean Kosovars, since there is already an Albania). Wow, the danes are on our side. The war is won! Maybe if we could get Lichtenstein to help out with Luxemburg we would have enough combat power. Since the world has delegated controlling the world's seas to the American taxpayer through our great Navy, maybe they will see what happens when even we can't be everywhere at once. Fuck the Euros and their bullshit hypocritical double standards. Synagogues and Jewish Cemetaries are being burned and desecrated, jews attacked in the streets and they blame "zionism". Never mind the fact that the ghetto jews who didn't have the brains or balls to leave Europe and go to Israel are probably as anti-zionist as they are. But, killing jews has never been much of a problem with Euros. Now we are finding out that killing Americans is also not a problem with euros, either. Save Britain, fuck Europe. |
