Quoted: even the name of the bill is propaganda. You hate school children don't you? |
|
They're probably setting up the concentration camps right now. Any minute they're going to break down your door and beat the living dog shit out of you with big saps.
|
|
They can resume the discussion of the bill but the first vote on the motion to proceed cannot happen until at least 10:30am. That is when the cloture motion that Reid submitted Tuesday matures.
|
|
If this passes we are screwed. This legislation essentially will create a registery. It states that the AG has 1 year to create a publicly viewed website of States rankings of NICS checks and is left open ended for registration.

I was unnerved by Murphy, but Blumenthal out-stupids him by miles.
It's all about feelings, and "seizing this oppoortunity", that has, by his own admission, been his focus for many years. |

Why do I have a feeling I'll be going to bed pissed off later?

Great points made by Mike Lee. What is unreasonable about delaying debate until you can actually read the text of key components of the bill such as the Toomey-Manchin compromise.
Now CSPAN is re-running the Toomey-Manchin conference. |

If there was a drinking game and "common sense" was the drinking word, we'd be in a coma within 15 minutes......

Well, Ms. Parks, if you pass a background check, you get to ride in the front of the bus.

I wish politicians were issued an AIDS covered cactus on their first day on The Hill and they were required to sit on said cactus every day.

Every time Manchin says "gunsense" I am overcome with this insane urge to punch him in the fucking head.

Just tried calling the Senate switchboard, I hung up after being on hold for 5 minutes. Hopefully a good sign. Hit both my Senators yesterday with emails.

Reid wants to begin debate on the bill today. First amendment to be offered will be Toomey-Manchin. Nobody has even seen the fucking text yet and they want to bring it up immediately.

Setting a precedent that every shooting means new gun laws and inching them ever closer to the repeal of the 2nd amendment. |

In on one for watching this train wreck happen. I just hope there are enough reps loyal to their oath and the constitution to keep this at bay.

Reid says the bill will be open to all amendments. Yep and you'll see the mag ban and AW ban proposed as amendments. |

Quoted: Quoted: Reid says the bill will be open to all amendments. That is terrifying No, it's good. It'll get so loaded that its' overall failure is more likely. |

Reid wants to suspend the usual rule requiring a 30-hour delay after the motion to proceed vote in order to bring a vote on the Toomey-Manchin Amendment today before any of us can read the text and hammer our Senators on it. |

Hopefully the Republican's have a plan to introduce a dozen poison pills using vague language. For example talking about registration but then having it only apply to machine guns and have the end result simply be opening back up the registry.

If it passes everyone should lose a gun and DEMAND to report it to the attorney general. I will not speak to ANYONE but Eric Holder himself as the law states.

The world needs to move on from Newtown and let them get their lives back to some form of normalcy.

Sen. Blumenthal needs to talk about the bill, but again, the left is using the tragedy as propaganda...
