Damn it!! Can't that storm swing East some more!? The last one dumped a good amount of rain on VA last week, we could use another good hit like that.

Hell, it's an event when we have lightening in my parts, even more so when we have hail once every few years. Of course, when the ground gets a shaken' things can turn bad very fast.

Last Hurricane I saw before leaving Va, there were 2 or 3 people who drowned while trying to surf the storm chop. |

I was in FL for Andrew. In Broward were north enough to not take a hit but my Uncle was in Homestead and they got nailed. They evacuated to Kendall (well outside the evac zone) and still almost died. I went down to Homestead after the fact and it was a mess for weeks.
For anyone in the path, take it serious. Get your shit, get enough to last 2 weeks and bunk down hard. That is unless you are gonna bail. Good luck. |

Ditto what Steyr said. I was in Homestead after Andrew, the very next day. Was there for a couple months in the Guard patroling the streets and whatnot. Was not a pretty sight. Got my fingers crossed for everyone near this one. Looks pretty intense.

I am listening to the Hurricane Watch Net on the radio now, even this far out they are already giving some ominous weather reports.
The reports out of Cuba yesterday were pretty bad as well, and it has picked up ALOT of steam since then. They keep moving that track east, if it comes directly over western NC we will see some flash flooding. |
