Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - shipping handguns

OK, I know this has been hashed out before. I did a search on "shipping" and found lots.
Here's what I know: It has to go from me to an FFL. It cant be shipped US Post. It must be shipped UPS or FedEx. I prefer UPS. Only time I ever shipped one I was under the impression it had to go "overnight air" so thats how I shipped it. Cost me fifty bucks.
Is this the way? Any cheaper way?
