Customs said the missile was marked live because it ``must appear to be live in order to gain the confidence of suspected arms traffickers during undercover investigations.'' But the agency added it believes its storage in a ``reinforced strong room'' was legal. 4th paragraph up from the bottom. Who cares about inert ordinance anyway? It can be found at ANY army/navy store across the United States. Just because something looks mean and explosive doesn't mean it is. I think these guys are blowing this out of proportion. |

The article made it clear why they had the missile; it was an inert training missile with "live" markings that they had for a "sting" operation that was in the works.
Nothing unusual about that. |
