My PC updates Windows automatically, and apparantly this mournings update screws up Internet Explorer. It just locks up. Did a system restore to 3 days ago, and again, when it updated, locked up Explorer. Turned the updates off this time after another restore. Anyone haveing this problem?

No problem here...just received a message that the Bing Bar was incompatible with Explorer, but that seems have been resolved.

I wouldn't mourn about it.

It didn't affect IE 10, which I am playing with. (Windows 7 Professional)

I usually use Chrome.

If you can manage to let the updates install, try running IE in safe mode thereafter.

Click Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons).

If it stops locking up, you can pin point the blame on one of your add-on's. Disable them one by one until you figure out which one it is.

Or use another browser...

Mine did updated last week and now it will get stuck and the back button will not work.  Update the page and then it will work.  Also will not let my Norton set a firewall.

Internet Explorer, the worlds most popular browser for downloading a better browser.

On a serious note, I have not seen any issues with the latest updates and IE9 on a test machine at work.  On my work machine and home machines, I use either FF or Chrome.

Windows Explorer kept crashing on me, a restart fixed it though.  This was on a pretty fresh win 7 install, only been a month or two to accumulate fuckedupedness .

Win7 Pro here with Service Pack 1 here. No problems on 9. Haven;t tried 10 yet but I see it's been posted vis-a-vis this platform.

Do you have IE10?  I had some issues with the lastest IE10 update on Win7.

I have Windows 7 on numerous computers and found no updates today.  I did reinstall the OS last week on one computer after the IE 10 update totally screwed something up on one that I couldn't figure out.  It made it so I could not download anything without the download being deleted by Windows as an unauthorized execution.  Probably just a settings issue in a security update that I couldn't figure out how to shut off.
