Not sure if you were looking for Pueblo specific (Title vs Pueblo), but my city had to boil water in July 2012. Milwaukee had a problem with crypto speritium (sp) in the early to mid 90's. I was young but I know we had to boil our water before we could consume it.

Within the last year or two I have got two letters at least saying the water was unsafe and needed to be boiled for consumption. Im in Texas.

About every six months in Pompano Beach, Florida, due to backflow fuckups in my area. Palm Beach County had a few of them since 2007 for the same reason. I'm convinced that the ability to pay off politicians is the only prerequisite for obtaining a government contract around here. There seems to be a sliding scale, too. The more complex jobs seem to get the more stupid contractors.

It's a common occurrence with the great New Orleans Sewage and Water Board. Twice in the last 6 months a boil water advisory has been issued.. Search that site for more info. In the October example they knew the water was compromised for 6 hours before they issued a press release

About two days ago. Apparently also cut off the water while a meth lab (next to the police station I might add

) went boom and burnt up 3 kids and two adults in the fire. Sadly, the adult meth heads are still alive. The infrastructure here is ancient, I could take pictures of BRICK side streets, and water breaks are frequent this time of year.

Never.

Well water. All water is run through a particulate filter, then a softener. Drinking water is then run through RO. Annual quality tests run.

There's nothing wrong with MY precious bodily fluids....

Several years ago our town issued a boil alert for about two days. A sample of water with something bad growing in it was taken at a water fountain at the high school. Turned out the water fountain was the source of contamination.

There have been half a dozen towns (at least) in Iowa that issued boil alerts in the last year. I can't link to them without googling first. It makes the evening news quite regularly. Broken water mains are the problem most of the time.

September 2003, Hampton Roads VA.

Hurricane Isabelle caused flooding that contaminated our city reservoirs. Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach were told to boil their water for about 10 days, if I remember correctly. A few other places in the area were boiling water for almost three weeks.

I was visiting a 3rd world country last summer, when the east coast had the Deracho that took out the power for a few days.
The hosts apoligized to me for it being so hot.
I told them "Not a problem. While you have to boil the water here, so do we at home. At least here you power and airconditioning."

We are on a well. Don't drink it. Too close to the old hog shed. Showering and dishwasher OK.

I got a call , FIL that lives next door. Dig up his yard to find lid to septic tank. Shovel. It got sucked out. No joy. Needs more digging , something is plugged up. More shovel. Pulled plug.

At least we were kinda out of the wind. Fuck the wind. Now some Co. is snaking it or some shit.

I yelled Shitters full , at the take a way tanker guy . He kinda laughed. He didn't want to be here either.

My day sucks.

I lived in Venezuela for two years from 94-96. If you didn't boil the water thoroughly before drinking it you risked getting very, very sick.

Local media must also be notified. In rural areas the utility is required to post a notice at places like the grocery store, post office, etc.

I had to for a weekend this last year. Lightning strike blew the transformer to the water treatment plant. We were under boil water restrictions, told to limit water use and all restaurants were closed.

I drove by Walmart to see how crazy the traffic was, and asked a cashier the next monday how bad the crowds were. Apparently people were trying to steal bottled water out of each others carts in line.

I don't recall but it was within the last 2-3 years.

There was a main break up the street and we had a boil advisory pending testing.

Relatively common in New England.
