On a Glock 23 Fotay Cal?

Kinda torn between a G19, G30, and the G23

Performance of the .40 is between a 9 and a .45, and ammo is plentiful.

I'm torn, only got enough funds for 1

I just talked my dad into a G19.

I'm a 1911 guy.

I'll be buying a G19 (or two) if this madness ever dies down.

Which caliber do you have more of? That is your answer.

None of any.

.40 is plentiful on the shelves... 9mm and .45acp not so much.

And G19 prices are all jacked up currently

Fuck, I did it all wrong...

I'm supposed to buy something... THEN ask if I made the right choice

I have all three. they all work.   buy what you can find ammo for

eta:  the 19 and 23 are easier to find mags and holsters for

In for the .40 H8Rs...

IF I had a GLOCK, it would be the 23.  27.  35.  or whatever other numbers they have in .40.

Choosing .40 is like not being able to decide on steak or chicken, and saying fuck it, I'll just have a salad.

Serious answer.
Fixes a problem that doesn't exist.

Please explain to us what problems the 9mm & .45 solve and why.

Then tell us how the .40 cannot solve those same problems yet CAN solve one that DOESN'T exist.

Please.
Thank you.

Having owned a G22 and G27. I would say go Gen4 G23.

.40 ammo is indeed plentiful right now.

I have a G23 and its my go to pistol. You can also get G19 mags and a conversion barrel and also shoot 9mm & .357sig all out of the same gun.

I never came close to insinuating that .40 wouldn't kill someone.
It's quite simple and I'm sure you know the answer.
It doesn't do anything 9mm can't with modern loads, and its not .45 .
It's an answer to a problem that never existed. It was developed for Leo's who carried .38spcl and couldn't qualify with a .45. All before modern 9mm rounds were available.

And I was just joking around. Shit, I had a .40 sig for a long time.

Can always make the 23 into a 19 if you choose.

I like the  .40, and as you said, it is much easier to find.

That's a problem that did exist, and why I posed the question.
No offense meant or taken.
Wasn't meant to be personal.

I believe the .40 has a place, does some things better than the other two and maybe a couple not as well...only not sure of that last one there.
I like the idea of the 9mm in a very compact pistol.
I like the idea of a .45 SUPER in a big pistol.
I like the idea of a 10mm in either size.
I like the .40 in what I've got or might get again.

As for the OP's question, yes, I believe a GLOCK 23 is a good all-around choice.

If you can only have one at this time, I'd recommend the 9 mickeymeter too.

Get it together then come ask!!! I would go with the 19. When this madness dies, 9mm will be plentiful and 9mm is a good round IMHO

G23 is good to go. Buy a 9mm barrel for it and have a pistol in 9mm and 40 cal.

I carried a G23 for years and have owned several G19's, a couple of G17's and a G22.  My go to gun is and always will be a G23 with +2 factory extensions on the magazines.
