"african american sitcoms" Possible titles: That's my Welfare Bum Eight Illegitimate Kids is Enough Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place that Funnels Profits to Louis Farrahkan Possible settings: Detroit Catch Phrases: "Kiss my Caddy," "Up your nose with a rubber hose, White Devil." Tertiary characters: Mother ashamed of her children's hanging around with white kids, cocky son of NAACP lawyer, wacky neighbor (black panther member), oblivious flight instructor Typical plot line: Protagonist's best gold chain comes out of the drawer tarnished-- on the morning of his big job interview; young brother attempts to borrow library book, gets arrested, learns a lesson when Laura Bush guest stars; protagonists try to gain acceptance. ------------------------------------------ My point isn't that I think threads such as this Muslim one should be stopped, it is that banning such threads when they pertain only to certain groups but not others is political correctness at it's best. It shows that such threads aren't locked because of some lofty goal of being above "racism", but rather because political correctness says that such jokes are forbidden when made about certain groups. If the conduct code forbids such jokes, why isn't it applied evenly to all groups? I think there is a big difference between making jokes like this, and actually being a racist (with racist defined as it is in most dictionaries). Is getting a chuckle out of ethnic jokes (no matter how poor in taste that may be) the same thing as thinking skin color is linked to 'genetic superiority' and other such nonsense? I suppose you could say that someone is born into a race, but chooses to be a Muslim, but really, how much of a choice does some kid born into a zealot family, who has Islam beaten into his brain from birth, really have? |

Title: Fiends
Premise: Six twenty-something jihad fighters sit around a coffee shop Pashtun Pot discussing life. Characters: Hamid: the brainy and nerdy bomb maker Mohammad: the sarcastic financier. has secret crush on Hamid's sister in red burka, if he can only find out what she looks like. Rashid: the oversexed handsome rock thrower, conflicted with dream of Hollywood stardom and 70 virgins. a woman in brown burka a woman in red burka a woman in black burka Episode 1: Hamid found love in a moving blue burka, but was frustrated when he approach the burka and was immediately beaten by the morality police. Hilarity ensues. Mohammad got a part time job teaching orphans the subtle art of car bombing and blew up his own car and 3 orphans instead. Hilarity ensues. Sexual tension increases between Rashid and the woman in brown burka when she accidentally exposed her ankle, giving Rashid the first view of a owman's bare skin. The brown burka was immediately arrested for being a harlot and executed on the soccer field. Hilarity ensues. Brown burka is to be replaced by yellow burka in episode 2. |
