Thanks for any help- we have a user who is running "Rbase" old Dos database and would like to run on new PC.

Here at work I am running the District DOS based financial program on both XP Pro and Win2K workstations.

It's a pretty complex program, and neither OS chokes on it.

how do your installations go?  alot of manual config or pretty straight forward?

It took some tweaking of the memory settings for the progam before it would work. I also had to resetup the network (Novell) printers so they were mapped to an LPT port.

Otherwise it was pretty simple.

Rbase should run on either (Damn, that brings back memories, I made a lot of money writing code in the pseudo-SQL query language Rbase uses).

XP is better, though because the DOS compatability mode has been enhanced and can be configured in more detail than earlier NT operating systems.
