I currently only own an 870 and have an mp9c on order.. Looking to expand. I know the consensus will be an AR but figured I would get some more ideas.. What do you guys think... Dont really wanna spend more than a grand.. I know given the timing it will be hard to find an AR in general but quantico seems to be getting a regular flow of them so Im not opposed to waiting.. Ive had my eye on a few things..

1911 in 22
mp5 style 22
AR in 22
and a AR in 223

What else?

Just buy the M&P15-22. All the AR benefits but low cost .22 shooting.

If that M&P 9c is your first pistol, I'd pick up a 22lr pistol to go with it for practice. S&W makes a M&P 22 pistol.

+1 to that

I have one and it's really made me want to get a centerfire M&P

For $1000 or less, one of the things you mentioned are on my list.

I'd like another 1911, but in .45acp
A decent bolt action .308 with a heavy barrel would be nice.
Also like the idea of a 22-250.

Best advice at this time is to find a nagant and plenty of ammo. All semi autos are going to be at a premium right now. There is still 762x54R available though (unlike 223) and who doesn't need a good 800yd bolt gun. During times of panic you will find the best deals by looking at things noone else is looking at. When the panic subsides, you will find an AR for a decent price

I've been looking for a nagant locally for about 1.5 months.  None to be found (except for crazy priced ones on armslist).  Dunhams had the 440 cases of ammo today, but no rifles.

Wont be my 1st pistol (had a SA 1911 and glock) just was stupid and got rid of them... im liking the idea of an M&P ar 22, could also pick up a mosin and maybe even a 1911 22 all for around a grand...
