I don't get upset at people who make atheist jokes or whatever. Hell(does this word offend you), if you know any, post them, I don't hear any that often.

it's tasteless and offensive because it's very purpose was to inflame or otherwise cause negative feelings in those it attempts to make fun of.  there is no respect for any one in that post.  by the way, just because someone is offended by it, does not mean that they're faith is in any way weak.  what a conclusion!

I'm sorry that anyone found this offensive. I in no way spoke badly of religion, god, jesus, or people who call themslves the religous right or whatever. This thread is OBVIOUSLY a reference to my thread "I'm a-warnin' ya." As such I personally take no offense to it.

Its just a RATHER poor attempt at humor.


Personally, I don't have much use for the "Amen, praise the Lord" crowd myself. I find their faith to GERNERALLY SPEAKING be shallow, and NOT life changing, as faith should be. And as you know, I'm a fairly religious dude myself.

But, it has been my experience that people who mock these types of "Amen-ers" (who admittedly bring ALOT of it on themselves) do so for the sole purpose of discrediting ALL religious people by pigeon-holing them and stereotyping them in with the "Amen-ers." Again, GENERALLY SPEAKING, this is done to discredit religious folk, and thereby delegitimize their message,  freeing ones self from any responsibility to any spiritual obligation. Not the case with everyone, but it has been my experience this is the general approach used.

Oddly, the anti-gun rights crowd uses the same tactics against gun owners.
