That's how I would have "found" it.

Might want to edit your title: it's Dorner.

I clicked on this thread thinking someone found an old gun from the Donner Party.

ETA: OP beat me to the punch.

Suppressors legal in CA? Or was it an out of state buy?

Only correct response so far.

Might be home made. But he had a house in Nevada and was stationed in nevada for three years which opened all kinds of NFA doors to him. There's pics of him shooting in the Nevada desert with an SBR. From the easy-ups and trucks in the background it looks like a hometown forum shoot.

Why can't I find anything that awesome in the snow?

Reminds me of all the "Hot for teacher" threads with "not guilty" teachers.

When I was about 13, I found a live .22 round on the street.  Being a city boy who had zero experience with guns, I thought it was the coolest thing ever and kept it in my drawer for years.

The P22 is an assault weapon in CA because of the threaded barrel.

Correct. In most cases a semi automatic handgun manufactured after 1999 with a threaded Brl is an "assault pistol" and usually illegal to possess in California. There are of course a ton of exemptions.
