And as for the Canadian fighting man, he proved himself in WWI at places like Ypres the Somme, Passchendaele, Verdun and the total victory at Vimy Ridge we even shot down the red baron and we continued the tradition in WW2 in the air, on the sea at the battle of the Atlantic and places like Ortona, JUNO beach, Falaise, the battle for Tilly, the Scheldt Estuary, liberating Belgium and in the end producing the 3rd largest Navy at the end of the war as well as gearing up for the invasion of Japan with you good Americans until you ended the war with the bomb. In Korea places like Kap'yong holding off and defeating thousands of Chinese while they were pouring over other allied lines. And more Canadians volunteered for Vietnam, than American draft dodgers that came this way. And if it were not for Canada WWI may have been a defeat considering the British battle loses (1 million dead x 2+ wounded). And in WW2 if it were not for our support in 1939 that helped solidify the victory at the Battle of Britain, the whole thing could have been over in 1940. |

I've said this before, it stumps me every time I go to Canada-they seem like the nicest down to earth people but they elect these horrid commie freaks to office. I noticed in the Halifax paper a lot of comments disparaging the apparently more liberal/goofy west. i.e. along the lines of "We thought those liberal nuts out west couldn't get any worse, but now there is a statute proposed in Vancouver (I think) requiring film companies that have the city shut down a city street for filming to pay money to the bums and prostitutes for their lost revenue."

His first thought on hearing the news of the attacks on the WTC was that there is an airport nearby his official residence and he could be next! What a buffoon. I intensely dislike "Cretin" along with many Canadian socialist policies. However, the Canadian people, as a whole, have been good allies when the chips were down. They have never attacked our buildings or murdered our civilians.

Actually, one of my favorite people in the whole world was a Canadian. Met him when I was a teenager up in Massachusetts. He was a Quebecer who'd come to the States to take a job he'd been offered. Probably did more to help us win WW2 than any other single person.
Fellow's name was John Garand. If Canada hadn't done one other thing in WW2, sending John C. down here would have been enough. [:D] Darn, This thread started the Canadian National Anthem playing in my head and I can't get it to stop. |

Every time I've been to Canada, I've found everyone to be quite pleasant and friendly. Wait a minute, maybe a little too friendly, like in a Stepford Wives kind of way.... AAAHHHHH Run! I can't think of a better neighbor than the Canadians we are fortunate to have on our eastern border. Leave the Politics and big city bull shit out of it and they are wonderful people.
