Striker I am planning to check with my FFL.(check your e-mail) He sells Enfields. He may even have one but I doubt it. Importing a LE may be easy, I just dont know.
Thanks

I have one (1944 vintage).. Someone explain why they have become so scarce?

I'll ask some SMLE owners around here to see what they have..Everyone should own at least ONE good battlefield bolt gun.

"Paging Lee Enfield, Mr. Lee Enfield of the Longbranch No. 4 MK1, please report to captainpooby."

I agree with Meplat.  I also think the SMLE was the best COMBAT bolt rifle ever fielded.  The only improvement would have been adopting a rimless case, but that can be debated.

The Germans made a rifle for hunting.
The Americans made a rifle for target shooting.
The Brits made a rifle for killing the enemy!

I don't know if it is still available. No response on the trade. E-mail him and find out. Pics look good, asking $275.

YAAAAYYYYY!!! Raven, you my friend, have done it!
I found it on the second site you listed. I have sent them an e-mail.
Thank you all for your help. I am buying my Dad this for Christmas. It would have been his issue rifle in ROK.
You have no idea how much this means to me(and will to him!)
