They did this last time but not nearly to this extreme of 1 box per customer

Yeah It is true. 1 box per person, per caliber, per day. Up to 3 boxes of 3 different calibers.

I had this confirmed to me at three different Academy locations in Texas today.

Only one location had any pistol calibers in stock (at the customer service desk).  No .223/5.56 at all.

Guy at the counter told me if i wanted a steady supply of CHL ammo i needed to start thinking like a cowboy....WHEELGUNS only sorta thing.  said if i got 357 or 38 or 45 lc i could shoot all day.

Probably a good thing.  Everyone seems to be buying everything up to resell around here.  I would rather have people buying to actually shoot.

A couple of weeks ago I bought 800 rounds of monarch 9mm. I could have took twice that much but I didn't. I noticed that all the .223 was gone but there seemed to be plenty of everything else in standard calibers.

It was for 5.56, .308, 7.62x39, 9mm, and .45 ACP at the Academy at 75 & Spring Creek here in Plano, TX.
Everything else was no limit.
The last couple of days has convinced me to go with 7mm Rem Mag instead of .300 Win Mag just because there is ammo still on the shelf for it.

Their prices suck anyway. If you have a good LGS.

They're gonna have a hard time selling flats of 12 gauge skeet shells 1 box at a time.

Don't blame them....they know people are arbitraging their products.....

Hopefully put an end to that....at least....

Smart business practice if you ask me.

My Wally World is at 2 boxes.  The first guy there after a shipment would buy everything if they didn't slow it down somehow, and they won't raise prices.

They still don't have anything.

Noone else local is restricting at all... but they don't have anything, either.

Don't know that there's a good answer right now.

The rules are only on certain ammo.

You can buy .270 and shotgun shells and many other calibers all day long.

Also you can only buy 1 handgun an 1 AR per person per 7 days.

This is what my local one is doing. Of the rationed rounds, they had a few boxes of .45 behind the customer service counter.

Yep, I was going to post the same thing.  Also, you have to get it at the service desk.

I' ve been leaving THOUSANDS of rounds of 9mm on shelves in the last 3 weeks. I should have been buying it to stock up on it as well.

I went to Walmart in Burleson today and that was the only available ammo as well.

40 cal is the only pistol ammo on any shelves around here. I would rather them limit sales a bit, than to have another gun store or gunbroker guy buy it all for profit. It's better than tripling the price so that everyone gets their "fair share".

I work at Academy. The company president was in my store this past Friday at 0800 and saw the
morning rush for himself. Three hours later we had the new policy.  It was explained to me, that
was a way to slow things down some and a way to service more customer's needs. Seems to be
working out good.

Good thing I've bought them out of the calibers I shoot the past few weeks.

A 1 one box per calibre  policy is gay. I want at least 100 rounds, less is not worth even driving over for it.

Or to keep the LGS from getting it all and marking it up.

And that let to my "Fuck it, why not buy a G22" purchase a couple weeks back

LGS has (had as of Friday) pretty much all calibers in stock, with a limit of 2 boxes total.    A handful of calibers, .38 Spl, .45 Colt, were only for sale with the purchase of a firearm of that caliber.

Local Walmarts have a few boxes of .40 self defense loads, .30-06, and 12ga shotgun target loads and piles of .410.

Dunhams has plenty of 10 - 16 ga, a smattering of rifle calibers, .44 Mag, .44 Spl and 250 round boxes of American Eagle .45 ACP, with the odd box of .32 Colt and a beat up box of Corbon .500 S&W.

Yesterday, I visited my local walmart gun department and the following is what i found:

2 x tula .380 acp target ammo

2 x winchester .45 acp target ammo

6-8 x federal champion .40 s&w ammo

1 x remington express 15-round box of 12 gauge 00 buckshot (2.75" IIRC)

A decent amount of various .410 ammo (mostly birdshot but I also recall seeing some winchester pdx1 rounds, as well)

A small amount of 12 gauge birdshells

A decent amount of various hunting rifle ammo (.243, .270, 7mm magnum, .300 magnum, etc)

No .223, 9mm, .38 special, .357 magnum, .308 winchester, 7.62x39 or .22 long rifle. Only one box of 12 gauge buckshot. I don't recall seeing any slugs of any guage including .410.
