the idea of being shot in the back (or the head, for that matter), for trying to save one's skin at Stalingrad must still be weighing heavily in the collective minds of the soldiers, even 2nd and 3rd generation ones.

must suck not to have a population of "citizens" who think fighting for one's country is an honor.
