What the deal with this? I am looking to buy a rifle scope that is pretty pricey. Local store has it for same as online vendors, but here I'll pay 8%.

Usually if there is no brick and mortar store in the the same state, they aren't required to collect sales tax.

You're probably still required to send the sales tax to the state. I'm sure everyone does.

Are you supposed to pay the tax when you file your state income tax?  We are supposed to do that here.
