Gander mountain in Hattiesburg MS said they were getting 64 AR's in by close of business Friday night and would be available at 9 am Saturday morning.
It was 40 degrees and raining, yet the line started forming at 1 am and by 4 am all guns were spoken for, they sold 64 AR's and 26k rounds. Panic is in full swing! |

I must confess, I went to my LGS the Monday morning after the tragedy and picked up a 6920 at a regular price with no drama at all. However, we passed that same gunstore one afternoon later in the week, and cars were parked up and down both sides of the road. I suppose timing really is everything.

Perhaps you can add a little more info to your post. This way we don't have to search the url of the photo to get an idea of what it is gunshowlineGreatPanicof2012 |

Will all these new owners write or call their elected representatives and let their voices be heard regarding proposed legislation...or will they be of the "I got mine; too bad for you!" mentality?

|
Yes but were all these people pro-gun pro-RKBA and/or gun enthusiasts
OR ARE THEY JUST IN IT TO FLIP THEM? |

Yes but were all these people pro-gun pro-RKBA and/or gun enthusiasts OR ARE THEY JUST IN IT TO FLIP THEM? I was going to buy an ar and another ar type pistol ive been looking around at. but im thinking in the next year i will be able to find some deals on used firearms or stores that ordered way more than they will need once this ban talk disappears. I bet alot of New in box ars will come on the market in the next couple of years, and once the ban fuss is over many good deals will be out there |

That is the Chilhowee Building in Knoxville, Tn. The RK Fun Show was yesterday thru tomm. I went and checked out the panic. Private sells, new sells of AR's $1200 & up and ammo, well lets say I couldnt get close enough to tell you. Lots of fun watching it go down though. All I wanted were some deals on some Spyderco's.... |

What did DSG do? Halted AR sales, screwed over customers, broke their contract with Troy Industries. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1410218_Dicks_sporting_goods_gave_Troy_the_SHAFT.html |

Incredible, if we could get these panic buyers to join NRA or SAF or GOA
Unreal right now |

I just got back from the Atlanta gun show. I got there at about 11:30am and there were plenty of AR-15's. People were bringing them in for private sale and the vendors had plenty on tables. The prices I noticed were about $1700 and up but I didn't look hard to find the cheapest price. The vendors had mil-spec mags for $30 (beat up) and $40 (little wear). A guy was selling like new mil-spec mags out of a backpack for $20. I went to get cash from an ATM to buy some but he sold out too soon. I don't really need any more anyway but it's hard to resist a relative bargain (and my wife was egging me on).
I actually went there intending to sell rifles, pistols, mags, etc. but I like my stuff too much to sell it at those prices. |

I was listening to a conversation at the gun shop counter today. The guy behind the counter said none of the stores are out of stock, they are just pulling all the AR's from the shelves until demand increases and they can really gouge.

Went to Academy today and didn't see a single black rifle related thing at a store that usually has a rack of them and accessories. The guy at the counter said they were gone early in the week and they have not been able to keep one on the shelf or any magazines or ammo.
