Is there any existing case law where a substance or item was not initially regulated, and then became regulated, where someone actually challenged that something they acquired legally could somehow then be illegal based on Ex Post Facto? I know most attorneys would agree that it wouldn't fall under this umbrella, but I am curious if anyone has actually ever challenged it in court, either on a substance or an NFA item, or whatever.
