Has anybody else gotten this f*&^ing FBI virus?  I have it on my desktop and whenever I get on it, suddenly this thing pops up and says the FBI has locked my computer for XYZ reason and in order to get it unlocked I have to pay $200.  There are about a million different websites explaining how to get rid of it, all of them different.  Has anybody had this virus and gotten rid of it?  If so, how?

Happened to me a few weeks ago. I googled it on my phone and found the way to get rid of it. It involves restarting in safe mode and manually deleting some files. Damn that free online porn!

IOne of my kids managed to get a similar virus.  I did a system restore to two weeks
prior and that fixed it.

Sorry, no. I've only ever had to deal with one browser redirect, and that was quite a few years ago.

If you can reboot in safemode do that and run combo fix.  Once that is done download/install/run malware-bytes.

Quit going to them porn sites and that will stop.
To fix it boot up in safe mode and then do a restore point on a date before the virus

step 1. restart pc pressing F8 repeatedly, select safe mode with networking
step 2. when pc boots up download malwarebytes
step 3. run full scan, remove all threats once its finished.
step 4. send me a pmag for fixing your computer

ETA: system restore is a temporary fix, malwarebytes removes it

That's what I did, although I couldn't get it to give me the safe mode option.  It's gone, in any case.  Got it from a forum when I was looking for information on the ARP Afonso de Albuquerque and the action in which it was lost during the war between India and Portugal in 1961.
