Yeah. Someone should set up a site of all their names/pictures and what side they are currently on- kind of like what someone did for SOPA and they backed down from that one....

Dear Lord!!! How can you not have Chuck Schumer and Gerald Nadler at the top of the list of gun banners?

Representative Bob Goodlatte, VA-6, new head of the House Judiciary Committee and one our major assets when it comes to defending against an AWB.
http://goodlatte.house.gov/ “We’re going to take a look at what happened there and what can be done to help avoid it in the future, but gun control is not going to be something that I would support,” he said. Goodlatte, who has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association, has been elected by his conference to chair the House Judiciary Committee next year, where he will have jurisdiction over firearms regulations. Virginia Senator Mark Warner, NRA A rating, traitor. warner.senate.gov/ “I’ve got an A rating from the NRA. But the status quo isn’t acceptable. I’ve got three daughters," Warner said. "They asked me on Friday evening, ‘Dad, what are you gonna do about this?’ There’s got to be a way to put reasonable restrictions, particularly as we look at assault weapons, as we look at these fast clips of ammunition.” |

Opposes the new ban:
- Sen. Richard Shelby, R-AL - Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC |

Yes she said she was for a new AWB. Our Republican Senator Roy Blunt was vague in his stance on a new AWB. I will try calling one of his offices to get a better reply than the form letter email that was sent to me. |

There is some here. But I can speak for the Nashville TN area folks, WE ARE NOT SAFE!!! WE HAVE JIM COOPER!!! His reply messages to what I have been writting him are all about doing whatever it takes to "save just one life". Absolutly no respect for our right. |
|
Need a list of politicians that could lose their seats if they vote it in.
|
|
Now I wouldn't call Goodlatte a defender of the Constitution. However, he is solidly pro-gun and, I guess this year he is useful to have on our side.
You can add Rep. Morgan Griffith to the "defender list" as well.

Waiting for a response from David Vitter (R) and Mary Landrieu (D)

You can most definitely put down Jim Himes [D - CT] (house) and Chris Murphy [D -CT] (senate) as for AWB. They have shitty NRA ratings as it is AND Sandy Hook IS in CT.
|
|
I'd definitely like to see something like that tacked. That way we all know who to put pressure on, and who to encourage to fight the good fight.

All the democrats are for, all the republicans against.
+/- about three or four out of the 535 in the house and senate. |

Any chance you could put senators on top in say blue, and house on the bottom in say, red? Just to break up the two?
A bill would have to pass each separately, so it might make sense. BTW you can add: For AWB: CT - D - Senate - Dick Blumenthal [F rating by NRA, called for "seismic changes after sandy hook"] CT - D - House - Joe Courtney [F rating by NRA, A rating by Brady Bunch] CT - D - House - John Larson [D rating by NRA, wants to "close the gun show loophole and further restrict sales"] CT - D - House - Rosa DeLauro [F rating by NRA, her website asks visitors "Do you believe in the 2nd Amendment?'] This information would complete CT as far as Fed. Congress goes. |
|
Me thinks there should be midterm election payback, regardless of the outcome of the AWB. Even if nothing passes, it should be too late for the supporters.

I wrote Pittenger even though I am not in his state. His response:
Dear 94ranger:
Thank you for reaching out to Representative-elect Robert Pittenger regarding the ongoing national discussion about gun control in the wake of the shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. Robert will be an advocate for the right to keep and bear arms as the next Congress weighs how to address gun violence in America. Please continue to be in touch, and let us know if we may be of service. Best wishes for a happy New Year. Sincerely, SomeIntern/StaffWorker |
